George is not complete without his companion, dinosaur. Its small, simple and whips up quick:
In green with a size 4 hook
Starting with the head:
Rd 1: ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hk (6)
Rd 2: 2 sc in ea sc around (12)
Rd 3-5: sc around (12)
Rd 6: sc 2 tog around (6)
Rd 7: sc around (6)
Rd 8: (1 sc, 2sc)around (9)
Rd 9-12: sc around (9)
STUFF head and body now**
TAIL
Switch to working in rows. Close the body by holding the end flat together
Row 1: sc through both sides in order to shut the body (sc in 3 of both sides, sl st in last st
Row 2: ch 1, turn, sc in next 3 st (3)
Row 3: ch 1, turn, sc2tog,sc (2)
Row 4: ch 1 turn, sc in 2 sc (2)
Row 5: ch1, turn, sc2tog (1)
Row 6: ch 1, sl st
Spikes:
Row 7: Ch 3 and sl st back onto the tail, at the end and following the midline. Sl st the entire way up the dragons back ending at the head. TO make the spike higher: sl st into the dragon, sc, ch 1, sl st into the sc.
Fasten off once your spikes are done.
Legs (make 4)
Attach green into the bottom of the dragon with a sl st. Ch 5. Sc down the ch (4) and sl st back into the dragon. Fasten off.
FINISHING:
embroider eyes, mouth and teeth and you are done! If you choose, you may sew the dragon to George’s hand š
