*Free Crochet Pattern – Amy Rose

Skill Level/Techniques:

Beginner/intermediate level. Created using rounds and rows with single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet, and triple crochet.

Material required:

Hk size 4.0

Yarn needle

Fiberfill stuffing

stitch marker – helpful

Medium worsted weight yarn in:

  • pink
  • light pink
  • white
  • black
  • red
  • yellow

Abbreviations

Rd – round

ch – chain

hk – hook

sc – single crochet

sc2tog – single crochet 2 together/decrease

hdc – half double crochet

dc – double crochet

tc – triple crochet

sl st – slip stitch

fo – fasten off

fsc – foundation single crochet – alneratively ch 1 extra and sc across

Starting with the head in pink:

Rd 1: ch 2, 8sc in 2nd ch from hk (8)

Rd 2: 2sc around (16)

Rd 3: (sc, 2sc) around (24)

Rd 4: (sc in 2, 2sc) around (32)

Rd 5: (sc in 3, 2sc) around (40)

Rd 6: (sc in 4, 2sc) around (48)

Rd 7: (sc in 5, 2sc) around (56)

Rd 8-20: sc around (56)

Rd 21: (sc in 5, sc2tog) around (48)

Rd 22: (sc in 4, sc2tog) around (40)

Rd 23: (sc in 3, sc2tog) around (32)

Rd 24: (sc in 2, sc2tog) around (24)

Neck

Body

Stuff firmly.

Legs (make 2)

Divide your body in half to make the legs: Find the 2 middle stitches on either side. sl st closed. The next st is the beginning of the leg.

The leg will consist of 14 stitches of the body and one extra sc to complete the round = 15 st

Rd 1-17: sc around (15). sl st, FO. Reattach blue to make the other leg. sl, st, FO and stuff.

Shoe – make 2 in red:

Rd 1: ch 2, 8 sc in 2nd ch from hk (8)

Rd 2: 2sc around (16)

Rd 3: (sc, sc in 2) around (24)

Rd 4-7: sc around (24)

Switch to working in rows:

Row 1-6 sc in 22, ch 1 turn (22)

Now you will form the heel flap:

Row 1: slst in 9, sc in 5

Row 2-9: ch 1, turn, cs in 5

top of shoe:

lift the flap up to the top of the shoe, ensuring the same height (you will have holes on either side of your flap that you will sew closed after) and work in rounds:

Rd 1: sc around the top (21)

Rd 2: sc around (21).

st st, FO red, weaving the end down to sew the flap sides closed.

Attach white to the top:

Rd 3-5: sc around (21). sl st, FO, leaving a long end to sew. Stuff shoes.

Sole of the Shoe (make 2) in black:

Rd 1: ch 12, sc in 10, 3sc in last st, (working around the foundation ch) sc in 9, 3sc in last st (25)

Rd 2: sc in 5, hdc in 5, 2hdc, 3hdc, 2hdc, hdc in 5, sc in 5, 3sc in last 2st (33)

Rd 3: sc in 5, hdc in 7, sc in 5, hdc in 7, sc 9 (33)

Rd 4: sc around (33). Sl st and fo

Attaching sole to shoe:

Use red to sc the white sole to the bottom of the shoe in all 33 st

Shoe straps in white (make 2)

Row 1: 12 fsc

Row 2: ch 1, turn, sc across (12). sl st, Fo and sew to shoe from tip of the shoe to top front.

Sock rings in white (make 2)

Rd 1: ch 24, sl st closed

Rd 2: sc in 24

Rd 3: (sc in 2, 2sc) around (32)

Rd 4: (sc in 3, 2sc) around (40)

Rd 5-6: sc around (40)

Rd 7: (sc in 3, sc2tog) around (32)

Rd 8: (sc in 2, sc2tog) around (24)

Rd 9: sc in 24

Rd 10: (sc in 2, 2sc) around (32)

Rd 11: (sc in 3, 2sc) around (40)

Rd 12-13: sc around (40)

Rd 14: (sc in 3, sc2tog) around (32)

Rd 15: (sc in 2, sc2tog) around (24)

sl st, fo

Stuff lightly. Thread leg through sock rings, sewing the bottom of the sock ring to the bottom rd of the legs. Sew top. You may also want to sew between the two rings to ensure the correct shape.

Sew the shoe to the bottom of the sock rings, with the yellow buckle facing outward.

Arms in light pink (make 2)

Rd 1: make 12 fsc (12)

Rd 2-12: sc around. (12) sl st, FO

Rd 13-14: Attach pink: sc around (12). sl st closed and sew to either side of body. Stuff the arms.

bracelet in yellow (make 2)

Rd 1: ch 16, sl st closed

Rd 2: sc around (16)

Rd 3: (sc, 2sc) around (24)

Rd 4: (sc in 2, 2sc) around (32)

Rd 5-8: sc around (32)

Rd 6: (sc in 2, sc2tog) around (24)

Rd 7: (sc, sc2tog) around (16)

Sl st, FO. sew Rd 1 to Rd 7, stuffing as you go. Sew bracelet to end of the arm.

Hands in white: (make 2)

Rd 1: ch 16, sl st closed

Rd 2: sc around (16)

Rd 3: (sc, 2sc) around (24)

Rd 4: (sc in 2, 2sc) around (32)

Rd 5: sc around (32)

Rd 6: (thumb) sc in 4, sl st across to the 29th st from the previous round, sc in 4 (8).

Rd 7-8: sc around (8)

Rd 9: sc in 2, sc2tog (around) (6)

Rd 10: sc2tog around. sl st and FO

Reattach white to the hand at rd 6 and sc around (sc in same st as thumb start and end) (26). sc around a second time (26). sl st and FO. stuff hands.

Make fingers separately, stuff and sew onto the hand as follows:

Ch 2: 6 sc in 2nd ch from hk.

Pointer finger – do 9 rds

Middle finger – do 10 rds

Ring finger – do 8 rds

Pinky finger – do 7 rds

After your fingers are sewn onto your hands, sew your hands/hand rings to the arms.

Stomach in light pink

Rd 1: ch 2, 6sc in 2nd ch from hk (6)

Rd 2: 2sc around (12)

Rd 3: (sc, 2sc) around (18)

Rd 4: (sc in 2, 2sc) around (24)

Rd 5: (sc in 3, 2sc) around (30). sl st, FO and sew to front of the torso

Snout in light pink

Rd 1: ch 12, sc in 2nd ch from hk and in next 9, 3sc in end (work foundation ch) sc in 9, 3sc in last st (25)

Rd 2: 3hdc, sc in 11, 3hdc, sc in 12 (29)

Rd 3: sc in 2, 3hdc, sc in 4, hdc in 2, sc in 4, 3hdc, sc in 15 (33)

Rd 4: sc in 2, hdc in 3, sc in 4, hdc in 2, sc in 4, hdc in 3, sc in 15 (33).

Smile: embroider half smile in black to the snout

Nose: embroider a black nose with a white glimmer. Sew snout to face.

Eyebrow in pink:

Row 1: make 43 fsc. set aside and sew directly around and above eye whites and to the snout.

Eye Whites: first make two different sized circles, then sew them together as follows:

Eye white 1:

Rd 1: ch 2, 8sc in 2nd ch from hk (8)

Rd 2: 2 sc around (16)

Rd 3: (sc, 2sc) around (24)

Rd 4: hdc in 6, sc in 6, hdc in 6, sc in 6 (24)

Rd 5: (hdc in 2, 2hdc)x2 (sc in 2, 2sc)x2 (hdc in 2, 2hdc)x2 (sc in 2, 2sc)x2 (32).

sl st, FO

Eye white 2:

Rd 1: ch 2, 8sc in 2nd ch from hk (8)

Rd 2: 2 sc around (16)

Rd 3: (sc, 2sc) around (24)

Switch to rows:

Row 1: sc in 5

Rd 2-4: ch 1, turn, sc in 5.

Sc around the entire eye (28)

sl st, fo and sew to the first eye in 5 stitches.

Eyes: embroider black eyes with green around them and add a white sparkle

Sew eye whites to face above snout. (now sew the brow around).

Eye Lashes – embroider in black

Ears in pink (make 2)

Rd 1: ch 2, 6sc in 2nd ch from hk (6)

Rd 2: sc around (6)

Rd 3: (sc, 2sc) around (9)

Rd 4: (sc in 2, 2sc) around (12)

Rd 5: sc around (12)

Inner ear in light pink (make 2)

Row 2: ch 1, turn, sc in 32. sl st, fo. Sew behind ears.

Dress in red:

Rd 1: make 40 fsc, sl st closed (40)

Rd 2-6: sc around (40)

Rd 7: 2hdc around (80)

Rd 8-11: hdc around (80)

Rd 12-13: fo red, attach white: dc around. sl st and fo. weave in ends.
